That is the part parents are really hiring. Someone else gathers the children, explains the rules, keeps the game moving and starts the next one before boredom sets in. The adults get to talk to each other, and the birthday child gets to be the centre of it all.

What happens in three hours

Three hours is long enough to shape a party around. A clown can open with a welcome game while guests arrive, run the team games before lunch, calm things down while plates go round, and finish with something loud just before the cake. Which games our clown plays, and whether there is music, prizes or balloon twisting, is not in our listing yet. Ask when you book, tell us the children's ages, and we confirm the plan on your quote. If you have a game the birthday child loves, say so. It costs nothing to ask.

Clown hire price for a kids party

The clown and games is KSh 6,000 for the three-hour session, for up to 30 children. Transport is added on your quote, priced by the distance from our yard in Uthiru, and a 50% deposit holds the date. Our terms recommend children's activities between 10am and 6pm, so a session that starts by 3pm fits in daylight.

More than 30 children, or very young ones

Thirty is the listing's figure, and games work best when every child gets a turn. At a school fun day or a church party with more children, ask us how to cover them, perhaps by adding a second act alongside. With toddlers, three hours of games is a lot. Keep the clown for the older group and give the little ones a ball pit for toddlers to play in nearby.

If a child is scared of the clown

It happens, and it is nothing to force. When the University of Sheffield asked 250 children aged 4 to 16 in hospital about clown pictures on ward walls, all of them disliked them, and the researcher reported that some found clowns "quite frightening". That study was about decoration, not a live performer at a party. It is still a good reason to let a shy child watch from a parent's lap at the edge of the game, and join in when ready. Tell us beforehand if a guest is nervous, and nobody gets pulled into the middle.

Space, weather and who looks after the children

Running games need room: a clear patch of lawn or a hall with the chairs pushed back, and a canopy tent if the sun is strong or rain is likely. A clown entertains; the children's safety stays with the parents and the host, as our terms say, so keep a few adults close to the games. In rain, the games come indoors or under cover.
